👇 🚨 BREAKING: Popular Singer Shot Dead by Hitmen After Concert More in Comments 👇

Authorities are taking action in Peru as most of Latin America struggled when a surge of extortions riddled the area. With the rise of gang activity in several countries in Latin America, authorities claimed that over 400 murders were reported this year alone. While barely three months into the year, prosecutors are looking for solutions after popular singer Paul Flores was shot dead while on a bus with his band.

After enjoying a concert, Flores climbed on a bus with his fellow bandmates as they left a concert just outside of Lima. Shockingly, a group of hitmen decided to overtake the bus and kill Flores. According to reports, the killing wasn’t just random as criminal gangs often threatened the singer, hoping to get money from him. Not willing to deal with threats, the gangs targeted Flores.

Announcing a state of emergency to deal with the crime wave, Gustavo Adrianzen, the head of the ministerial cabinet, wrote on social media, “It has been ordered that in the coming hours, a state of emergency be decreed throughout the province of Lima and the Constitutional province of Callao.” He explained how troops were being deployed to the area to help police tackle the issue.

Government Wants Peru To Stand Up After Killing Of Paul Flores

Knowing it would take more than the police and the military, Andrianzen called on the citizens to help fight back against the gangs and crime. “In the fight against organized crime, all Peruvians must stand united, overcoming all our differences of any kind.”

After the murder of Flores, the culture ministry of Peru took a moment to honor the singer, posting a picture of him on Twitter. The ministry praised the singer and insisted he “won the hearts of thousands of Peruvians.”

Sadly, Flores is just the latest victim as a journalist was also gunned down when they reported on the extortion epidemic in the area. Looking back to 2024, authorities suggested that over 14,000 extortion complaints were filed. But police believed that number was just a small portion as many were too afraid to come forward.
