Itโ€™s been 20 years since diners sat down in a Chi-Chiโ€™s restaurant in the United States, but that is about to change. Michael McDermott, son of original owner Marno McDermott, plans to reopen locations in 2025.

According to a news release, the chain once had more than 200 locations but closed the final restaurant in 2004. Hormel Foods continued the use of Chi-Chiโ€™s trademarks for food sold in retail stores. A new agreement between Hormel and Michael will return the Chi-Chiโ€™s name to restaurant locations soon.
