Some time ago, an Australian woman asked people to guess her age. She was shocked when most of the answers were between 50 and 60.<\/p>\n

She toldFEMAILthat people have \u201clost touch with reality\u201d because they are so used to seeing faces with filters, Photoshop, and cosmetic procedures that they\u2019ve forgotten what real life is.<\/p>\n

Emily is 36 years old now and lives in Sydney. People of all ages who watched her film gave it\u201cwild\u201dresponses that shocked her.<\/p>\n

A woman wrote under Emily\u2019s TikTok,\u201cI\u2019m 57, and I think you\u2019re my age, maybe a few years younger.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re in your mid-40s,\u201dsaid someone else.\u201cIt\u2019s your grey hair, skin, the fine lines around your eyes, and frown lines.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nEmily said she stopped dying her hair while she was in lockdown.<\/p>\n

\u201cI embraced my grey. Women want to feel comfortable being themselves. We\u2019re all tired of trying to be 25 all the time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI know most people my age won\u2019t show their grey hair, but this is the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Many people think Emily\u2019s graying hair is a sign of getting old or being over 50. It began when she was 19 years old.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never got Botox, I\u2019m not wearing any makeup, I\u2019ve never had any work done,\u201dshe said in the video.<\/p>\n

\nShe also said that the reason she has bags under her eyes is because her baby son keeps her up at night.<\/p>\n

Even after Emily said how old she was, the opinions kept coming in.<\/p>\n

Someone told her,\u201cYou look great for a 55-year-old.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d say you were 37 to be nice, but in reality you look like you\u2019re 44. It\u2019s the skin under your eyes and your hair,\u201danother one wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201c36 going on 60. It probably is the hair that ages you but you are still very gorgeous,\u201da man wrote.<\/p>\n

Someone aged 15 thought she was 42, and someone aged 60 thought Emily looked the same age as her.<\/p>\n

A few people in their mid-30s and late-20s got Emily\u2019s age right: she was 36.<\/p>\n

\nIn a follow-up video, Emily talked about how shocked and horrified she was by all the comments.<\/p>\n

\u201cSomeone is 35 and they think I\u2019m 58. Do I genuinely look that old? Like I\u2019m near retirement age?\u201dshe inquired.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it is essential to remember that what you see on social media and what you see on television or what you\u2019ve seen in magazines, and people have said this for years, it is not real.\u201d<\/p>\n

The mom started a sleepwear line to counteract all the social media ads that tell people to look younger.<\/p>\n
